With this H varietv the yield is havier, and H the grain commands a better H figure on the market. Mrs. Emma Webb, the accommodating accom-modating landlady of the Orton Hotel, has been having an unusual un-usual rush of business the present pre-sent week, and the accommodations accommo-dations of this popular hostlery has been taxed to the limit The decendants of the late Wm. Mitchell have recentlye fleeted flee-ted a family organization, the object ob-ject in view being advancement and improvement generally. The committee in charge for the year ending November, 1914, is Wm. C. Mitchell. Jr. G. A. Mitchell and Mrs. Maude Mitchell Mitch-ell Dalton. Arrangements will be made by them for social gatherings to be held on the birthday anniversaries of each member, the first of which was held November 16th in honor of J. Clayton Mitchell, at the home of Mrs. Maude M. Dalton. An excellent program was rendered, consisting of speeches, music, both vucal and instrumetal, readings, read-ings, sentiments, etc. Games were also indulged in and dainty refreshments served. The event was most enjoyable and successful success-ful in every way. The regular weekly officers' meeting of the Y. L. M. I. A. with almost a full attendance of officers and teachers, was hald Tuesday evening at the home of Miss Eleanor Guyman. Miss Eva Mortenson of Cache Valley is spending the winter with relatives in Parowan. She has considerable musical ability and has quite number of students stu-dents in that line. F. C. Van Buren is erecting a neat four room bugalow immediately imme-diately north of the Hender son residence. He expects to have it ready for occupancy by the beginning be-ginning of the new year. New homes are also being erected by M. M. Decker, Edwin Gurr and Daniel Macfariane. Jas. N. Connell and family, who for several years past have made their home in Beaver, have returned to Parowan. Mr. Connell has purchased land in this valley and intends making hie home here in the future. The directors of the Ward Hall have engaged F. C. Van Buren to organize an orchestra, and under his able management we are assured of good music for our amusements the coming season. sea-son. The Matheson family are planning plan-ning a reunion to be held on Thanksgiving day. The entertainment enter-tainment will consist of a banquet ban-quet and program. Mrs. S. R. Matheson is chairman of the committee in charge. Quite a severe form of grip is prevalent in our city. Among those most seriously afflicted are J. M. Ward and Mrs. Geo. Harwood. Avis, the little daughter of County Road Supervisor Hen-drickson, Hen-drickson, entertained a host of her little friends November 19th in honor of her 9th birthday anniversary. The electric light plant which has been out of commisiosn for the past ten days is now in running run-ning order and the lights are greatly'appreciated once more. On November 19th a marriage license was issued by County Clork Mitchell to Lamont McDonald Mc-Donald of Salt Lake City and Miss Allie Watts of Cedar City, after which Bishop Jas. L. Adams performed the marriage ceremony. New arrivals at tne Hotel Bayles this week are W. D. Owens and Walter Lyman, traveling salesmen for Z. C. M. I. also Mr. Luton of Los Angeles and Messrs.
