Show BUTTE. Diplomas Awarded Eighth Grade Class. Eighth grade graduation exereisa's were held at St. Laurence's- -.-.chool Tuesday niht of last week and diplomat! diplo-mat! were awarded to the ioilviiig: Misses Lillie J. Leary. Blanche C. Holland. Agnes r. Foiey. Delia Mc-Nulty, Mc-Nulty, Julia A. Sullivan, Anna J. Holland. Hol-land. Mary M. Murnhy. Grace M. Crunican. Catherine C.Cuffe. Margaret E. Casey, Messrs. Timothy J. Kennedy, , John J. Malvey, David J. Quilty. Wal-I Wal-I ter J. Duffy, Thomas F. O'Conne'.l. William Wil-liam M. Gibbons and James P. O'Don-nell. O'Don-nell. Rev. Father M. O'Donnell Barry de-; de-; livered a short closing address and the j diplomas were presented by Rev. Fa-i Fa-i ther Batens of St. Lawrence's parish. It is announced that James O'Donnell and William Gibbons will go to St. Joseph's Jo-seph's Theological college, Dubuque, la., next fall. Those winnins: the J. II. Leyson watches for attendance were Miss Josie Gleason and Harry Baeca. Miss Mary Lynch won a gold medal for good conduct, while Michael O'Keefe and James McDonald, in the second and third grades, were presented with medals for attendance. Miss Agnes Thompson won the medal given by the Rev. Father Thompson for application, and Miss Anna Holland was awarded the Rev. Father Batens medal for punctuality. Those winning the Palmer Pal-mer diplomas for handwriting were Miss Maggie Casey, Miss Grace Cruni-can. Cruni-can. Miss Julia Sullivan and Miss Annie An-nie Foley. |
