The Queen's Daughters were entertained enter-tained on last Saturday afternoon by IMiss Georgia Hughes, an honorary m-niber, at her home, 237 West Four-I ticnth avenue. There was a good sized at Tendance, and an address was deliv-j red by Rev. Thomas 11. Malone. the S'iritual director, who is home from J Xew York. It was decided to give a silver offering offer-ing tea for the nenefit of the club treasury, treas-ury, to carry on the charitable work with which the young women are engaged, en-gaged, and Mrs. John V. r.enson offered of-fered her beautiful residence for the occasion. The reception was given on Thursday evening of this week. All of the members attended, bringing with them friends by the score sr that the iiffnir was a decided financial success owing to the generosity of the guests. 1 FEAST OF CORPUS CHR1STI. I Although the Feast of Corpus Christi fell on Thursday of last week, the celebration cel-ebration did not take place in most of the 'hurches until Sunday, when with all the nomn and ceremony of the Catholic church the day was observed. At St. Elizabeth's in West Denver the ceremonies were especially impressive. Fully 1.000 persons took part in the procession on Sunday morning, while hundreds of the devout stood on either side of thp street with bared heads v. hile ihe tanks tiled past. The procession proces-sion formed after the high mass and marched out of the church in the following fol-lowing order: Acolytes, carrying the toss. I School c hildren of St. Elizabeth's and I St. Clara's convent to the number of 200. Sodality of Children of Mary. St. Francis' Benevolent order. C M. p. E. society. Flower girls. St. Anthony's cadets as a body guard. Sanctuary boys. Priests bearing the Blessed Sacrament. Sacra-ment. Knights of St. John in full regalia. Married Eadles' Sodality. Rev. Father Marcellus. O. F. M., was elf-brant at the high mass, and he was assisted by the pastor. Rev. Father Pius. O. F. M. The services closed with solemn benediction and the singing of the "Te Deum." Nothing is being overlooked in making mak-ing the plans for the picnic at Berkeley lake on July 4 (next Tuesday) for the . benefit of the Church of the Annuncia tion. Especially have the young people labored to dispose of the tickets, and there are all sorts of sports planned to make the day delightful for the young folks. A prize for skill as an oarsman will be one of the awards which will lend interests to the occasion. MOUNT CARMEL ACADEMY. The most elaborate commencement :ercises participated in by the pupils -f the parnchiai schools were those which marked the close of the year at Ml. Carmel. The entertainment was given at the Broadway theatre last Sunday and was witnessed by hundreds hun-dreds of friends and relatives of the children. The programme had been prepared under the direction of the Missionary Sisters-of -the Sacred Heart who conduct the .school, and was pro-I pro-I i.ounced excellent in every detail by those who attended. All the children who took part in the programme were Italian and a pleasing feature was the . dosing; address, delivered by Consul i; General Pasquale Corte of Italy. A JUNE CHURCH WEDDING. t The Church of St. John the Evan gelist, in Harms-' n. was the se-ene of a cry pretty weeiding on 'Wednesday venir-g of last week, when Miss Mary Genevieve McCaTran became the bride of Robert Roul Gray. The church was pri ftily dee orated in pink and white peonies, while tall, waving palms j formed an artistic background. To the strains of the wedding march from Lohengrin, Lo-hengrin, played by Mr. C. L. Hincke, th bride entered the church on the arm of her father, Mr. John McCarran. Preceding them were her attendants, Mis Bessie McCarran. maid of honor, and the bridesmaids. Misses Anna Mc-Curran, Mc-Curran, Louise A. Wagner, Mary Di-lseen Di-lseen and Miss Katherine Smith of Longmont, and the flower girl, little Frances McCarran. Mie-hael E. Walsh was best man, and the ushers were Frank T. Wagner, William Rice, Samuel Sam-uel W. McAllister and Horace A. I ; Springer. The bride's gown was of white satin mescaline, and her bouquet of sweet peas. Her long tulle veil, which touched the hem of her gown. ; was fastened to the coiffure by a brooch of amethysts ami pearls, the gift of the groom. Miss Bessie McCarran McCar-ran were white silk and carried white peonies. The- maids were gowned in pink and carried pink peonies. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Timothy Tim-othy O'Brien, pastor.
