Show Literary Gem. The learned author of The Exodus, and the able exposition of the French situation, Dr. F. E. Roche of this city, has published a poem called "An Arraignment," Ar-raignment," which merits more than a single perusal. The literary volume of the first work, an epic pcem, published pub-lished more than a year ago, established estab-lished the reputation of this truly Christian scholar, and the shorter work to which we refer is full cf deep thought and exquisite expression. First appearing in the Boston Pilot, it has been reprinted in local papers and continues to receive well-deserved praise1. Some lines are particularly appealing, ap-pealing, as "Xo deprivation holds so keen a sting As that of exile from the God of Love!" |
