Show AN IMPORTANT LABOR CASE. A case that is of universal interest has been docketed in the United States supreme court at Washington. It is termed Jerry E. Donovan vs. Michael T. Perry. The case involves the question of damages for loss of a position through the "unionizing" of a shop. Donovan was the representative in Haverhill, Mass., of the Boot and Shoe Makers' union. He entered into a contract with the employers of Perry to provide them with union labor. Thereupon Perry had to be discharged. Perry brought suit against Donovan and was awarded $1,500 by the trial court. The verdict was affirmed by the superior court of Massachusetts. Donovan Don-ovan takes the case to Washington on a writ of error. The whole labor world will watch with concern for the final decision. |
