Show BLACKFOOT, IDA. E. W. Wade. Utah manager for the Utah Light and Railway company, visited vis-ited the site of a proposed power plant near this place, which will cost in the neighborhood of $100,000. The works will furnish about 1.000 horse power, as at present projected. The Black-foot Black-foot river runs through a big rock ravine with walls from 200 to 300 feet high. By the construction of a canal 1.500 feet in length, the water may be taW?n ' out and turned into a power house to be located on the flat at the mouth of the ravine. The construction of this canal will not be expensive and furthermore by the building of a series of dams along the ravine the capacity of the plant may be greatly increased. Mr. Wade estimates that for each forty feet in height of dams constructed, the capacity of the plant would be in- creased 1.000 horse power. The en-j en-j terprise is projected for the furnishing I of electric lighting and power for the I towns of Idaho Falls and Blackfoot I and the intervening country. Tn this project Utah and Idaho capi-' capi-' talists are interested. |
