Show HELENA, MONT. Mr. and Mrs. C. J. McNamara have rented the residence of Thomas L. Martin, on Harrison avenue. A garden dinner was given at the beautiful home of Mrs. C. B. 'Black, 1110 Chestnut street, August 22, in honor of Mrs. P. H. Caruso. Covers were laid for ten and the table was beautiful with its decorations- of garden gar-den flowers. Mrs. Caruso is leaving Helena to make her home in Livingston, Living-ston, and has made many friends who regret to lose her. . The annual meetintr of the Pioneers of Montana Will be held in Helena this year during- the state fair, Oct. 2-7. There will be a three days' session, commencing on Tuesday of that week, and Thursday will be Pioneer day a.t the fair. Secretary Sanders says that he expects more pioneers at the meeting meet-ing this year than at any gathering ever held. He estimates that of the 1.500 members more than 500 will be present at the reunion this year. The rapidity with which the men of the 60's are dropping off makes these meetings meet-ings dearer to those who yet remain. The state fair offers the pioneers a practical exhibit of the progress made by Montana since they settled here, J and products are shown which the early ear-ly settler believed to be impossible, in J this altitude and latitude. No class of 1 Montana citizens take more pride in the showing made at the ' state fair than do the pioneers. . . ' The funeral of Mrs. Margaret Murphy, Mur-phy, who died Sundav at the age of 80 years, took place om the Cathe- dral of the Sacred Heart. The services were conducted by Rev. Father Sullivan. Sul-livan. The pallbearers were John Gleason, Francis Gallagher, J. A. Me-Kinnon, Me-Kinnon, Moses Furlong, Hugh Daly and Arthur P. Moran. |
