News reached Helena recently that Miss Adaline Simmons, formerly of Helena, had died in England. She was the eldest of a family of six, who, with their mother, became Catholics and were baptized, received first communion commun-ion and confirmation Jan. IS, isys. At the time of her death Miss Simmons Sim-mons was attending school in Belgium. She was about IS years of age. Miss Maud Galen is spending several J days visiting friends in Butte. She is the guest of Miss Scallon. Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Dahler are expected home from St. Paul in a few j days. They went there to be present j at the ceremonies of Miss Candacc I Hudnell's entrance into the novitiate of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, j Miss Hudnell is a sister of Mrs. Dahler , and was prominent in social circles here. Miss Martha Yoss, who is ill at St. John's hospital with typhoid fever, is rapidly 'recovering. Miss Belle Larkin, who has been se-riclislv se-riclislv ill with tvohoid fever, is recov ering rapidly and her friends hope to see her out soon. Bishop Brondel went to Anaconda, where he was to confirm a class of twenty-five. Miss Annie Smith of Boulder spent several days in the city last week. The cathedral choir is hard at Avork on the music for the Christmas Mass. Howard Brady of Marysville, superintendent su-perintendent of the Empire mine, was in Helena last week. Miss Kessler gave a theatre party Tuesday evening at the performance of "El Capitan," after which they went to the home of their hostess. The party par-ty consisted of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Harlow, Miss Murphy, Miss Kessler, Henry Parchen, Charles M. Kessler, Albert Raleigh and Charles Ward. Miss Annie McConnell entertained informally in-formally at luncheon Thursday afternoon. after-noon. The table decorations were chrysanthemums. Those present were Mrs. Odell, W.
