Show Meeting To Discuss Possibility Of Organizing "Community Institute1' Here Purpose Will Be To Study Educational, Political & Civic Problems The possibility of the organization organiza-tion of some type of a 'community institute" to study the educational, political and civic problems of this community entered the tentative stages this week with announcement announce-ment of a meeting to be held next Monday evening at the high school to discuss the proposal. Although the plan is only embryonic, em-bryonic, several leaders of the various civic organizations in Preston Pres-ton have indicated an interest in the plan. Possibly, a "leadership week" could be worked out whereby where-by public meetings could be held to study various civic problems along with the assistance of experts ex-perts in various lines, according to Supt. of Schools R. F. Campbell Camp-bell who lias asked representatives of various organizations to attend the meeting Monday evening. Some of the groups who win send delegates are the Board of Education, County Extension Service, Ser-vice, Recreational Association, Franklin and Oneida stakes, Franklin Frank-lin County, Preston City, Preston Chamber of Commerce, Lion's club, Rotary club, Preston schools. American Legion, Business and Professional Women, Delphian Society, So-ciety, Community Church, Fine Arts club, Literary club, and the Preston P. T. A. The meeting will be held at 7 p. m. in room 102. o o |
