The bout scheduled between Cleone Williams of Malad and J George Hagiwara of the USAC was cancelled because Hagiwara broke his hand: while training and a bout between Robert Lundgreen of Franklin andr Shirley Boaz of the CCC camp was substituted. Boaz showed just a little too much polish for the Franklin youth and received the judges' decision in a thrilling bout. Les Mockli fought a hard fight and earned a decision over Dil-worth Dil-worth Morrison! of Franklin in an-ohen an-ohen good bout. Mockli showed too much experience for Morrison. Warren Erickson won an easy decision over William Andra but it was a fan-pleaser all the way as Andra stayed in there and threw plenty of leather at his more experienced ex-perienced foe. In the curtain raiser the two Lewis twins of Preston put on a ding-dong battle which resulted in a well-received draw. |
