Show ' IDAHO RECEIVES WARTIME PROJECTS , Idaho's first major defense projects, proj-ects, a naval ordnance relining plant costing some $20,000,000 to be built at Pocatello and the development develop-ment and operation of a bombing range northwest of Blackfoot, which have become headline news in the state during this week brought added interest to the business busi-ness industries of all southeastern Idaho. These two communities in the southeastern part of the state began be-gan immediately to plan for the influx in population which will accompany both projects. Completion Comple-tion of the present plans, which were announced by Idaho's repre- sentatives in Washington, D. C, after they were approved by the Navy Bureau March 19, should place approximately 200 to 260 skilled workers at work in the Pocatello Po-catello factory by September, together to-gether with numerous semi-skilled and unskilled workers. The bombing range will be located lo-cated near the 'ghost town' of Tabor Ta-bor which was first settled by homesteaders who tried vainly to develop crop growing farms from this desert area.. |
