Show toy the An article appearing in the Chicago Herald-American last Dec. 14, one of a series of sev-. sev-. ' en prepared by Robey Parks, paid tribute to the keen prophetic pro-phetic mind of Joseph Smith when it recalled to readers the fact that the founder of Mormonism Mor-monism predicted war between the United States and Japan nearly a hundred years ago. "There is a land near the Rocky Mountains that will be invaded by the Japanese unless care is taken," he prophecied. We wonder if "the invasion" of Japanese evacuees from the Pacific Pa-cific coast !s that predicted by i . Prophet Joseph Smith. ' Unquestionably those Japanese alienB and American born "yellow men" remaining loyal to the Nipponese Nip-ponese government will continue to act in the interests of the Jap attempt to wipe the United States from the map. Enemies need not carry guns to become dangerous sometimes we are convinced that fifth columnists are equally as dangerous. That dastardly weapon fifth columns proved its worth In the fall of France and others heeled by that dog Hitler. i. Let us suppose that these '"f" great numbers of Japanese ,1 evacuees, both alien and Amer- f lean born, are not conteimplat- ; ing a reprisal against our gov ernment y Let us suppose that tiiey win move into our communities and become peaceful citizens. That doesn't protect us against the future. fu-ture. Having spent most of our life Tesidlng among Japanese farmers, we know what dangers their shadows shad-ows spread. j A small number are as patriotic to the American Flag and our Constitution Con-stitution as we are, but most haven't hav-en't severed the ties that reach, across the Pacific. Their ambition is to create small fortunes that will guarantee security se-curity during old age, but an old age spent in Japan. It doesn't cost much to live in Japan a few thousand dollars taken tak-en from America Is sufficient for security in luxury across the Pacific. Pa-cific. Japanese farmers are not the kind of competitiors we want anywhere in the United States. They are a detriment to the standard of living this country wishes to protect. We think it safe to state that they are out of the reach of Ameri-', Ameri-', can competition. They live in cheaply constructed homes homes constructed of lettuce let-tuce crates, scrap wood, etc. They spend nothing for food stuffs, eating eat-ing only that their soil produces. It is true "they work like dogs," it Is also true they live like dogs. There's but one way to compete with thorn on even terms but there are none of us who desire to lower ourselves to their peonlc .standards. Remember this, they'll wreck i t- farming almost as quickly as bombs will. 9 m Let us remember the prophecy pro-phecy of Joseph Smith . . . take oare in protecting your communities com-munities from a "Japanese Invasion."
