This is the attitude taken by the Auic ciub of Southern Californ'i as outlined in correspondence between C. E. MeStay, field secretary of the coast organization and Elias S. The correspondence released by Mr. Woodruff holds an impartial routing of travel by Utah organizations to be the sole objective which should be sought by either California touring bodys. To Mr. Woodruff the Southern South-ern California club secretary wrote: been made on our part to interfere with the operation of your organization organiza-tion or to influence you in your policies. poli-cies. The outgrowth of the Scenic Highway High-way association into an automobile club is but the natural step and it is my personal conviction that their efforts will result either in assuming the lead within that state as a motor organization or in a reorganization of the old club on a basis that will represent rep-resent the state as a whole. Salt Lake City occupies a unique position and if capitalized by her people should receive a vastly increased in-creased volume of motor travel not alone of east and westbound trans-'. trans-'. continental motorists but an ever increasing in-creasing volume of such travel to and from the Yellowstone country and to the great natural wonders of Southern South-ern Utah. Our only desire is to see fair and impartial routing of travel and the development of the great scenic attractions adjacent to Southern South-ern California which after all is the meeca of a very large percentage of the transcontinental motorists. I do not believe that the California State Automobile association with its headquarters in San Francisco or the Automobile club of Southern California Calif-ornia with its headquarters in Los Angeles should have a voice in an organization operated by and for the benefit of the people of Utah.
