Show Baby Girl Saved By Small Brother j i Lacretia, the 17-months-old baby girl of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Ferre, barely escaped drowning in a tub of water at the family home on South Main street shortly after five o'clock. It was the heroic act of her five-year-old brother that saved the life of the little baby girl when the boy, seeing the dangerous predicament of his sister, pulled her from the tub and hurriedly notified the parents. When the' father of the child reached the baby she was unconscious and it was feared she was dead. First aid methods were resorted to and Dr. Hagan summoned. The doctor and the parents worked fully fifteen minutes uver the child before signs ' of life j again appeared. The child according to reports from the Ferre homti this morning, is doing fine and has recovered recov-ered from the shock. Lacretia, according to the statements of the father, C. E. Ferre, was playing about the yard last evening. A smal' tub partially filled with soiled clothes was near the water hydrant and it is supposed the child wandered near the tub and in playing fell in. The water covered the little body to the shoulders should-ers and had it not been for the small brother the little baby would have been drowned. Seing the predicament his sister was in, the boy pulled her from the water and hastily notified his parents. |
