Show Gunnison School Captures Prize The school of the South Sanpete district, for the persistent and splendid splen-did co-operation in carrying out the health program .and the care and watchfulness in the attractiveness of the school buildings and grounds, are paid a high compliment by Sarah Tooth, health supervisor, and Superintendent Super-intendent Reid. Not only is the compliment com-pliment e:-: tended for the good work done, but Gunnison captured the second sec-ond prize of ?10 offered at the opening open-ing of the school year by the board, he following letter, commending the schools, has been received by The News: "We wish to commend the teachers and students of the South Sanpete school district for the efficient work they have done the past school year in the improvement, care and attractiveness at-tractiveness of their school buildings and grounds, and for the splendid co-operation of the teachers and students stu-dents of the elementary grades in putting over the health program. This work has been carried on very successfully and gTeat credit is due the teachers for their persistent and watching care of the children. To the school teacher should be given the credit of developing the aesthetic side of the child's life, for at no time is it so important and easily easi-ly accomplished as in early youth. The class rooms, in general, have been made beautiful and attractive. At the beginning of the year, the school board agreed that prizes should be offered to the schools having hav-ing the best marks in all lines of improvement. im-provement. The students throughout the district have been untiring in their efforts to make good records. We have concluded that the awards should be as follows: Fayette First prize $15.00 Gunnison Second prize ....$10.00 Ephraim Third prize $5.00 |
