Show SUGAR IJEETS TO THE FRONT. Reports from the sugar beet growing grow-ing sections indicate exceptionally bright crop prospects, with farmers signing up all the acreage that companies com-panies can handle. Labor is plentiful plenti-ful and reduced operating expenses are shown on both the farm and in the factories. Tho sugar market is more or less uncertain, and the companies contemplate con-template doing business on a very narrow margin of profit. Apparently the farmers have realized real-ized that a crop with a guaranteed price set in advance, such as sugar 'beets, is a safe proposition to tie to when the market for crops generally is uncertain and falling. Wise action on the part of growers grow-ers and manufacturers has saved the sugar beet industry of the west from demoralization during a critical period. |
