Show LET US I'ULL TOGETHER. There Is some evidence that business busi-ness is slowly reviving; but all over this great country, once prosperous tiuterprises are still struggling with adverse conditions, and where there were profits in many industries there are still discouraging balance sheets. There Is little prospect of a permanent per-manent revival of prosperity for either labor or capital until the national na-tional tax laws are so revised as to make industrial prosperity possible. Labor and capital are in the same boat. One can not really prosper without the other doing the same. Both must do their share toward bringing back normal conditions. It is the duty, and tho best policy, for capital to avoid, as far as possible, the reduction of wage scales, and on the other hand, it Is the duty and best policy for labor to give a fair day's work for a fair day's pay. We must have co-operation and a greater realisation real-isation of the mutual interdependence of labor and capital, to attain the best interests of both. More practical Christianity Is needed. need-ed. "Do unto others as you would that they should do unto you." This may seem a bit old-fashioned; but it is eternally true. If selfish and unfair un-fair mothods are avoided on both sides, and all pull together for mutual mu-tual benefit, we shall the sooner reach the era of revived prosperity and promote the welfare of all concerned con-cerned Boston Post. |
