Show BOMB SUPECT HELD BY POLICE Warrant Issued for Driver of "Death Cart" of Wall Street Explosion Identification of Guiseppe de Filippo a truckman of Bayonne, N. J., as the man who drove the wagon which conveyed con-veyed the explosives causing the Wall street explosion last Sepeteniber, was made Thursday by five persons, department de-partment of Justice officais stated Three identifications were described as "positive." De Fillippo was being held without, bail and, in solitary confinement in Bayonne tonight on a technical charge of supicion. A federal warrant charg- ing him with conspiracy in the destruction des-truction of government property was sworn out Thursday and will be serv- j ed tomorrow, officais said. The pris-oner pris-oner will be arranged in Newark and an attempt will be made to bring him here. Joseph Seala, the prisoner's counsel, declared De Filippo was not connected with the bomb plot. De Filippo did not even know where Wall street was located, Scala added, and on the day of the explosion he was in Bayonne, where he ban been in the j trucking business for twelve years. The persons who are alleged to hove positively identified De Fillippo were described as a young wonnin, her chauffuer and New York business man. Department of justice officais stated they had been on the trail of De Filippo Filip-po for more than two months. |
