Show Butch Cassidy Country All Over Region You're in Butch Cassidy country in Garfield County and evidence of the famous outlaw's presence are all over the county. In Panguitch, the old Blue Pine Hotel on the east side of Main Street claims in its history that Butch Cassidy met his mother here for the last time. There's hardly an area of the county that someone can't tell you a tale or two about one of the west's most notorious cowboy outlaws. Butch Cassidy Draw in Red Canyon is plainly marked for visitors to see and the homestead of his youth lies on the northern border of the county along U.S. 89. In only very recent years, the famous cowboy's last remaining sister died in a Panguitch hospital after writing her personal story of her brother's life. |
