Show Hatch Happenings Velma Huntington 735-4231 Those from here attending the open house in St. George, for former Hatch resident Joseph H. Barnhurst on his 90th birthday were Mr. and Mrs. Garth Heap and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wilhelm and Mel Barnhurst. They also met all their sisters from Nevada there. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Heap attended at-tended sessions in the St. George LDS Temple. Friday they went to a wedding in the temple for their niece Stephanie Matson and Gary Holyoak. Visiting the Heaps over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jordan, Henderson, Nev., Mike Heap and Rick Lund, Cedar City. Speakers in church were stake, leaders LaWana Price and Gary Dalton. Guy Price, Junction accompanied ac-companied them to church. In business token care of in sacrament meeting, Effel Riggs was released as leader of the "Special Interest Over Forty" group. Sustained in her place was Lilith Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Evans went to Hurricane for several days to stay at the Deloy Evans home. Mrs. Deloy (Jolene) Evans had undergone major surgery and, from last reports, was feeling lots better. Panguitch High School seniors from Hatch, Heath Sartini, Loraine Varela and LaFawn Barnhurst and their parents attended the "Graduates Tea" in Panguitch Sunday evening. The Gary Faggs went to Salt Lake City on business and to visit relatives. Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Campbell, St. George spent several days visiting relatives and friends. Carla Sawyer and Michael Sawyer visited in Hurricane with Mr. and Mrs. Allen Humpheries. LaVal Sawyer has been transferred from his job at Price to Henrieville. Visiting Verda Sawyer were Vay Sawyer and Edward DeMille, Kanab and Jim Little, Salt Lake City. The Robert Craw family, Minersville visited over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Leland Riggs. The Wayne Stubbs, Parowan visited with Mr. and Mrs. Grant Dalton. The Daltons visited one day in Kanab with the Gib Clarks. Then the Clarks came to Hatch for the weekend. iw Visiting their cottage here, and , cleaning their property were the Lee -Porters and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Wooley, Orem. Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Turek visited relatives in Washington City and E. F. Turek checked with his doctor in St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Lowder took Velma Huntington and Jody Allred to Kanab to visit Velta Sawyer and Vaneta Sawyer. They took Vaneta Sawyer and all visited in Fredonia with Vaelyn Sawyer and to see her new home. They visited the Don Mackelprangs and all the Larry Lewis where Mrs. Lewis had just come home for the hospital with a baby girl whose grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Max Burrows. The Darol Allreds, Washington City spent the weekend here with Velma Huntington and Jody Allred. Visiting in town were Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Crofts, Orderville; Mr. and Mrs. Max Burrows, Fredonia, Ariz. The Kent Sawyers, Kurt Sawyer and Colter Sawyer, Cedar City visited the David Sawyers. Velma Huntington, Beth Allred, , Delores Allred, and Jody Allred, visited in Panguitch with Mr. and Mrs. Pat Dix. Mr. and Mrs. David Sawyer accompanied ac-companied the Kent Sawyers and Kurt Sawyer to Duck Creek where they m-t Phyllis Sawyer and Aimee Sawyer and the Grant Backs of Cedar City for a cookout. Afterward, the David Sawyers accompanied them on to Cedar City. Munday Dutton and Homer Duttons have gone to Las Vegas, Nev. for Homer's son, Robin's graduation from high school. |
