Show Sleeping Better Here are four eye-opening ways to improve your sleep environment that you may want to toss around: Noise: Check your sleeping area for sleep-damaging sounds such as electrical hums, creaking shutters or an air conditioner cycling cy-cling on and off. You may want to consider a "white sound" machine to counter very harsh noises. Temperature: Most people sleep best in a room around 65 degrees F. Generally a cooler room is preferable to a warm one. Equipment: A comfortable mattress and pillow may make all the difference in getting a good night's sleep. Many people sleep best on soft, luxurious pillows, such as the top-quality "Quallofil" pillow pil-low from Du Pont. Others prefer a pillow with extra-support such as "Quallofirm." Both pillows contain Stayfresh, an anti-bacterial treatment treat-ment to keep sleep sweet. Decor: A bedroom decorated in muted tones and pale colors particularly par-ticularly shades of blue, studies suggest, is easiest to sleep in. |
