Show Swimmers Take Spots In Cedar Competition Saturday, June 4 was a red letter day for several Garfield County young swimmers who placed high in the Cedar City Swim Meet ;'. In the 50-meter 8 years and under un-der class, Paula Talbot won first place in backstroke. In the 10-12 age group, Amanda Talbot competing in the 50-meter events won 2nd place in breast stroke, 2nd place in free style, and 3rd place in back stroke. In the 50-meter events, Bucky Orton won two 1st places: one in the backstroke event and one in freestyle. Ben Davis who comes in from Bryce to the Panguitch pool, com- peted in four events, taking a 2nd place in butterfly, 2nd place in breaststroke, 2nd place in backstroke, back-stroke, and 3rd place in freestyle. In the 12-14 age group, Holly Orton won first place in the backstroke, back-stroke, second place in freestyle, and 4th place in the butterfly. The Panguitch team currently has 10 members and would like to interest high school students in participating. The team practices Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 until 9 a.m. Anyone interested inter-ested should contact Ann Reynolds. The team will compete at Green Valley this week, Cedar City next week and Delta the following week. |
