Show flREfi OBITOfiRIES Robert 'Bob' Hughes Robert "Bob" Hughes, 56, of St. George, died June 5, 1988, at Dixie Medical Center in St. George. He was born May 17, 1932, Panguitch to William Henry and Thora Dean Davenport Hughes. He married Shirley Rae Nelson April 27, 1956, in Beaver; later solemnized solem-nized in the St. George LDS Temple. Tem-ple. At the age of 12, he began farming farm-ing for his father and the Houston Brothers in Panguitch. He spent two years farming for Bart Graff, worked for Halls Brothers Feed and Mill, the Gentry Brothers dairy and worked 12 years for Ence Brothers Feed and Trucking. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Sunday School presidency for several years. He was a devoted home teacher. Survivors: wife, St. George; sons, daughters, Sandra Cordell and Robert Joe Hughes of West Valley City; Richard Lynn Hughes, Kelly Dean Hughes and Shirleen Barteaux, all of St. George; three grandchildren; brothers, sisters, Bill, Panguitch; Joe, Cannonville; Alfred, Phil, both St. George; Bessie Crofts, Orderville; Thora Partner, Henrieville; Nellie Hep-worth, Hep-worth, Clarkton, Wash.; Ida Jane Julia Elmer CANNONVILLE Funeral services for Julia Elizabeth Dutton Elmer were held Monday in the Cannonville LDS Ward chapel with Bishop LaMonte Twitchell, officiating. offici-ating. John Elmer offered the family prayer; Marva Fletcher played prelude pre-lude and postlude music and Joe Thompson gave the invocation. Gretha Twitchell gave a tribute and speaker was Nick Reynolds. Bishop Twitchell offered remarks. Music included two vocal duet selections by Anita Fletcher and Patty Lutes and vocal solo by Virgil Vir-gil Anderson. Donald Heaton offered of-fered the benediction. Interment was in the Cannonville Can-nonville Cemetery by Neal S. Ma- gieby ana bons Mortuary, Richfield, Rich-field, where Clele Fletcher gave the dedicatory prayer. Pallbearers were Kendall Twitchell, Hyrum Elmer, Foster Moosman, Danny Elmer, Randy Elmer and Jerry Mangum, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Lyle Elmer, Howard Elmer, LaMar Elmer, Garth Elmer, James Elmer and John Elmer. Alton H. Talbot Alton H. Talbot, 80, West Valley Val-ley City, died June 7, 1988, following a lingering illness. He was born Oct. 26, 1907, Panguitch, to William H. and Ethel Hatch Talbot. He married Leona Excell, June 5, 1928, Salt Lake LDS Temple. He filled an LDS mission. He was a high priest in the Granger 15th LDS Ward. He led ward choirs in Panguitch and Granger. He was retired from Holy Cross Hospital. Survivors: wife, Granger; daughters, Evelyn Dalley, Mrs. Carl (Reva) Fish, Melba Raueten, Mrs. Waldo (Ethelane) Lewis; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Opal Norton, Millard Ellis. Funeral services were held Friday Fri-day in the Granger 15th LDS Ward chapel. Additional services were Saturday Satur-day in Panguitch with Bishop Merle Prince, conducting. Robert Dalley offered the family prayer; Irene H. McEwen played prelude music and Ned D. Myers offered the invocation. Beverly Goulding gave a tribute and speaker was Don G. Excell. A reading was given by Barbara Marshall. Mar-shall. Bishop Prince gave remarks. Music included selection by the Panguitch Tri-Ward Choir; selection selec-tion by Carin Williams; selections by Ron Lewis, Don Lewis, Robert Dalley and Doug Dalley, and selection selec-tion by Hilma and Dick Excell. Carl Fish gave the benediction. Interment was in the Panguitch City Cemetery by Deseret Mortuary, Mortu-ary, Salt Lake City. Pallbearers were Millard Ellis Talbot, Robert Dalley, Raymond Talbot, Douglas Dalley, Timothy Dalley, Michael Lewis, Ronald Lewis and Donald Lewis. Tail, Fredonia, Ariz.; Inez Wilson, Panguitch; .Dot Mangum, Monroe. Funeral services were held in the Middlcton LDS chapel June 11. Family prayer was offered by Dennis Den-nis Hughes and at the funeral services ser-vices by Joseph Nelson. Prelude music was played by Bill Michclson with a musical selection by Mike Manuele and Sharla Manuele. The invocation was offered of-fered by Ray Laub. Two musical selections were given by neighbor children. The eulogy was delivered by Marllo Herschi with remarks by Charlie Randall. There was a musical musi-cal selection by Laurel Mickelson. A history and tribute was given by Janie Lamoreaux with a final musical offering by the Mike Manueles. Jay Ence gave the benediction. bene-diction. Interment was in the St. George Cemetery with dedication of the grave by Alfred Hughes. |
