Show Water System Working Well In City Panguitch City Manager Bruce Fullmer stated that the city's secondary sec-ondary water system is working quite well. Water Master Lowell Henrie Jr. said there is some difficulty with silt, but the system is working and will get better as soon as the silt problem is eliminated. Beautification plans are going ahead in the city with six full loads of trash being hauled out in one week. The city has made free trash hauling available for those who request re-quest the service. John Houston apprised the city council of the newly organized Motel Owners Association's plans to erect a $5,000 sign to advertise Panguitch. He said that the MOA staled that it was time to make the city destination rather than a drive-through. drive-through. MOA also asked the county and the city council for funding for a golf course. Fullmer stated that he felt the motel owners and interested citizens could apply for Community Impact Funds. He said that a golf course could meet the CIF guidelines. The Panguitch High School Junior Ju-nior Class will present the July 4 program this year which will include in-clude a parade, dinner, games, and a dance. Night time activities will include an $800 fireworks display. The $800 was donated by the city council along with a donation of $450 to assist the juniors in the festivities. The Panguitch City Council voted a $25 donation to each Bo-bcttc Bo-bcttc going to Japan, limited to 20 girls. Councilman Jake Albrccht said that there is $5,000 in the Christmas Christ-mas Tree Fund and the Christmas Decoration Committee would like to spend $8,000 on lights this year. The city said they would guarantee the additional $3,000 and asked that donars continue to support the fund. |
