Show Miss Karen Barney Barney-Christensen Mr', and Mrs. E. Miles Barney, Panguitch announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter Miss Karen Barney to Kenneth Shipley Christensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen S. Christensen of Oak City. The couple will be married in the Jordan River LDS Temple, Feb. 15. A reception in their honor will be held at the Oak City LDS chapel that same evening from 7:30 to 11 p.m. with a program scheduled for 10 p.m. A second reception to honor the newlyweds will be held Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Panguitch LDS Stake Center from 7 to 9 p.m. The bride-to-be graduated from Panguitch High School, spent one year at Ricks College and graduated with honors from Southern Utah State College where she earned a degree in elementary education and minored in music and art. She also received the Lambda Delta Sigma senior scholarship award while attending SUSC. Following her graduation, she spent a quarter at Brigham Young University at Hawaii. The prospective bridegroom graduated from Delta High School in 1980 where he was active in wrestling. He served an LDS mission to Adelaide, South Australia. The couple will reside in Phoenix, following their marriage where he will attend Devry Institute of Technology studying computer sciences .and she will teach at the elementary level. |
