Show - Panguitch Patter - Judy Henrie Mr. and Mrs. Ted Chidester and children Mariea, Jill and Bart were the speakers in the Second and Third Ward Sacrament meetings. The Chidester s left Monday for Las Vegas to catch a plane to fly home to Hawaii after spending the summer here with thier parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorls Chidester and Mr.' and Mrs. Wallace Miller. Ted's sister Lola Henrie took them to Las Vegas to catch the plane and visited her son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. David Henrie. Brandon Henrie accompanied his grandmother to Las Vegas. . Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hohnson were fn Woodruff over the weekend visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ed Vernon and attending her high school class reunion. Archie Alexander passed away at this home Aug. 15. Funeral and burial were in Panguitch Aug. 19. Mr. and Mrs. Bart (Jackie) Reynolds, Aurora have moved into the Dr. Jon Moody home. Bart is the new wrestling coach at Panguitch High. The Moody s have moved to Fillmore where he has set up his dental practice. The Lions and the Lady Lions met for a mutton fry at Red Point on Mammoth Creek. Hosts were Mr. and Mrs. John Yardley and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Yardley. Members of the Third Ward attended the cannery in Cedar City on Saturday where they canned raspberry jam. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Keith Steele, Bishop and Mrs. Merle Prince, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hatch, Hilma Excell, Erna Riggs, Merle Stowell, Carol Dodds, Darlene Sawyer, Neucile Henrie, Verda Tebbs, Jay Proctor, Kern Owens, Marilyn Veater, Geralynn McEwen and Arthur Clark. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Davies, Provo visited at their home here over the weekend and fished at the Otter Creek Reservoir. Christine Henrie and her grandmother, Blanche Pendleton were in Richfield Saturday where they visited their son and their uncle and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Dirk Pendleton. The James H. and Hilma T. Excell family reunion was held Friday through Sunday of last week on the Boulder Mountain. The Dick Excell family was the host family. All of their Children except Mas were there. He and his wife Glenda and daughter Tesse had been here visiting the week before from their home in cokeville, Wyo. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Excell of No. Ogden stayed to visit a little longer with his parents. David Lee, son of Dr. and Mrs. Wallace Lee left to attend dental college at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. Robert Tebbs the son of JoAnn Losser and the late Sterling Tebbs left for Detroit, Mich, where he will attend graduate school in biochemistry. Robert is the grandson of Elpha Tebbs and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pendleton. He will be attending Wayne State University, Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Clark Frandsen were their son Steve and his daughter Diana, Lehi. They attended the Frandsen reunion. Visiting Allie Frandsen and attending the Frandsen were her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Tom (LauraJean) Gray, her grandaughter Carta Gray, Carta's fiance, David Christensen, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie (Allie) Gray, Kerns. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Keith Frandsen were their son and his wife Mr. and Mrs. Michael Frandsen, Payson, Ariz. They also attended the Frandsen Reunion. Mr, and Mrs. Layne Sevy, Stockton, Calif, and Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Sevy, Pleasant Grove spent the weekend visiting their mother Hazel Sevy and doing some fixup s around the house and yard for her. Layne has retired after 36 years with the California Highway Department. The Panguitch lion s Club needs to be commended for the fine Job they have done with getting all the numbers on the houses so it is easier to find your way around town when looking for an address, a special thanks to Ray Barnes and all his hours of hard work putting up the numbers for the older people and those who were unable to put them up. Mr. and Mrs. Vanoy (Evon) Hansen and daughter Sharon, Spring City visited Sunday with Erna Riggs. Evon was the home agent her a few years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Lee are the proud grandparents of a baby girl born to Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Lee, Cedar City, Aug. 19. Wallace and Kelly will be moving to Provo where Wally will enter the J. Reuben Clark Law School at the Brigham Young University. Mr. and Mrs. Danny Frandsen, Richfield visited his parents Mr. and Mrs. Dan Frandsen and attended the Frandsen reunion. They also visited Teresea's parents, Mr. and Mrs. LaDean Gleave. Mr. and Mrs. Howard (Mamie) Hatch, and Rea Dodds attended graveside services for Mary Jane Swapp in St. George. Visiting Richard Irish for the past week have been "The Eliminators" of San Diego, Calif. The group consists of Dr. Hal Fender, Kid Zombie, Carsh LeMarsh, Eddy Duke Purahoo, Jonny Idol, Neil "The Rook" Van Buren, Billy "Dial" Fade. Visiting the Pat Dix family last week were their friends, Mr. and Mrs. Jim (Kristine) Valles, Nampa Ida. Pat Dix visited in McGill Nev. last week with his daughter Collene Morrell and family. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Dix, Kristy Barabbas and April Dix visited over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dix in Parowan; Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Dix in LaVerkin; Mr. and Mrs. Casey Dix in St. George; Mr. and Mrs. Darrol Allred in Washington City and Mr. and Mrs. Garn Huntington in Middleton. LaMar Nay, Salt Lake City visited over the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Junior Nay. The James Ercil and Maxine Anderson family reunion was held at the Panguitch City park Aug. 10. All five children except Don were able to attend. Those in attendance were Dr. and Mrs. Terry Henrie, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Marble, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Henrie, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Henrie, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Henrie, Mr. and Mrs. Cal Henrie, Sunny Lee Knoold, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brown, Karen Orme, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton (Nyla Mae) Leavitt, Mr. and Mrs. Randall Dyer and Mr. and Mrs. Tim Yates. Lena Miller went to Richfield where she met her daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Milo (Gatha) Lyons and they all traveled to Salt Lake City to the Rob Norton family reunion. Peggie Buckalew, Magna was in town completing the painting on her her house. She brought her son George Ray and her daughter Peggie Sadler to help her. She wishes to thank everyone for their sympathy and concern following the sudden death of her husband George of a heart attack. Visiting the Gale Wilcocks during the past week heave been their daughter and her husband Mr. and Mrs. LaMond Davis, and Mr. and Mrs. Garland Mitchell, Dedar City who visited his father Ed Mitchell of Escalante who is a patient in the hospital here. Also visiting them were Sharon Hunt,Couer d'Alene, Ida. and Merlene Higgins, Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Gale (Gai) Wilcock and Dayne Wilcock spent four days last week in Salt Lake City to see Gale's doctor. They visited Mr. and Mrs. Orville (Edith) Hatch and Mae Swapp. Mary Henrie attended the marriage of her grandson John N. Henrie Jr. and Erin Hansen in the Salt Lake Temple. Mary and Mr. and Mrs. Gem Church attended the garden reception held after wards at the home of the bride's parents. John N. is the son of Dr, John N. Henrie and the late Dr. Joyce Henrie, Salt Lake City. The George and Ida Floy Frandsen family reunion was held, Aug. 17 at the home of Allie Frandsen. Their were 79 in attendance. Visiting the Lawrence Frandsens were their son Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Frandsen and four children of South Jordan their daughter Mr. and Mars. Steve (DeAnna) Hatch and five children of Scipio, Lawrence's sister and - . husband Mr. and Mrs. Don (Joanj t Hilton, and niece and her husband, . Mr. and Mrs. Carl (Carol) Winters, Las Vegas. Visiting Anna Frandsen were her daughters .Ruth Owens, Kanab, her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs Dean (Ramona) Crofts, Orderville, her grandaughter, Sherrie Bridges, Kanab and grandson Eddy Owens, Las Vegas. Visiting the Larry Frandsens were their daughters, their husbands and families Anna Rae Manner and four children of Alamo, Nev. and mr. and mrs. Jon (Jacquie) Hunt who flew in their plane from Blanding along with Uieir three children. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. David Harris were their daughter Wendy and her fiance, Ted Randall, Rupert Ida. Mr. and Mrs. Adrian (Georgia) Cuff and daughter Georgeanna, Kearns visited in town over the weekend. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Verl Matthews was their daughter Verlalne's friend, Kay Iverson, Brigham City, Wendell Hatch, Washington City visited his mother Mamie T. Hatch. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hatch will leave next week to go back to Overton Nev. where he theaches school after spending the summer here with his mother. Ronald Lynn Orton, the son of Ronald Orton, Long Beach, Calif, and Golda Jean Orton Cedar City has been called to serve a misson for the LDS Church in the France Paris Mission. He is the grandson of Frank (Cecil) Orton and Hope Truman and the late Boyce Truman. His missionary farewell will be held in Cedar City September 15. Mr. and Mrs. Keith O. Henrie were in Salt Lake City during the week on business. Jaems Chidester returned home with them to visit before leaving for Hawaii where he will be living with the Ted Chidester family and attending school for the coming school year. James is the son of Mary Kay and the late John F. Chidester, Jr. The J. Earl and Bculah Crosby Allen family reunion was held at the ranch of Konroy Henrie Aug. 18. All of the children and most of the grandchildren were in attendance, 108 in all. Those children and their spouses are Mr. and Mrs. Konroy (Cleo) Henrie and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Allen, Panguitch; Mr. and- Mrs. Clem Allen, Orerri; Mr. and Mrs. George Allen, Helena, Mont. Mr. and Mrs. James (Rowa) Lee, Las Vegas and Mr. and Mrs. Whorton " Allen, Logan. The Lady Lions are going to be the concessioners for the rock hound show to be held here on August 22, 23 and 24 at the social hall. Seventy-two descendants of the Quince and Iva Houston family attended a reunion at the Layton City park in Layton, Aug. 17. Attending from Panguitch were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Oldham and their son and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Rick Oldham, Kim, Jessica and Jimmy Oldham. The senior Oldhams met their oldest son Jim and his wife Pam and their daughters Rachel and Amber in Salt Lake City, After the reunion, they returned to Panguitch where Jim and his family will spend a week before returning to Seattle, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Crosby and children visited the Jay Crosbys over the weekend. They wer enrounte from Seattle, Wash. To Phoenix, Ariz, where they will live. Also visiting the Jay Crosbys were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Crosby. |
