Show Final Big Game Drawings Held Lucky permit winners In the final drawing for big game hunts were held Friday, August 16 in Salt Lake City and the results have been announced by the Division of Wildlife Resources. The names of local area winners were made available to the Garfield County News in time for publication by Conservation Officer Norman McKee. For the Johns Valley antelope hunt, there were 158 applicants for the IS available permits. Drawing out locally were Jake Albrecht, James Henrie, Randy Houston, Norman McKee, all Panguitch; Eugene Bemhard and LaMar LeFevre, Tropic; and Fred Syrett, Bryce. The hunt Is set for Sept. 21-29. For the Panguitch Lake elk hunt scheduled for Sept. 14-29, there were 313 applicants for 10 permits. Jake Albrecht and Nin Miller, both Panguitch, drew out. For the Paunsaugunt elk hunt Sept'. 14-29, there were 190 applicants for 10 permits, with Susan Foster, Bryce; Karl Wigner, Tropic; and Gall Wilcock, Panguitch capturing three of them. For the Barney Top-Canaan Mountain dk hunt Sept. 14-29, 25 people applied for five available permits. No one in the county drew out. Mt. Dutton's (south end) cow elk hunt set for Oct. 2-15 saw 270 applicants for 30 permits. In Garfidd County, James Anthony, Robert Dickinson, Robert Folker, Sharon Moore and Merle Prince, all Panguitch; and Marcus Gleaver Bill Wiley and Thomas Wiley, all Antimony were the lucky winners. The final hunt, the Boulder Mountain cow elk hunt, is set for Dec. 14-Jan. 31 1986. One hundred seventy-three applicants tried for 30 permits, with Gilbert Becentl, Escalante, and Max Behunin and Dee Frost winning locally. |
