Show Cub Scout District Chairman Len Mills, Kingston and Mike Tebbs, scout coordinator Panguitch Second Ward, review statistics from Saturday's Cub Scout Fun Day. Panguitch Boy District Executive New Panguitch Boy Scout District Executive Benjamin Speas also services the Powell Point District that cover eastern Garfield County, and the Kanab District. Speas is a professional scouter which means that he is highly trained in all phases of scouting and more important, he. is paid for his expertice and therfore has a serious interest in scounting since it is his career choice., Speas, reared in Missouri, says he came into the scouting program because of his father's influence. Speas said his father's example as a volunteer scouter gave him the impetus and desire to make scouting his vocation. Speas had a combined major that included youth recreation, management recreation and youth leadership. Educated at Brigham Young University, this is his first time in southern Utah and his wife Dru says, "its different, but we love it." 'After, his graduation, Speas, 25, interned for two months in Eugene, Oregon. As District Executive, Speas is responsible for all phases of scouting in the three districts in this area. |
