Survivors: widow, Fredia, Escalante, stepson, Jack Martin, Salt Lake City; two grand sons ; eight greatgrandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. A. F. (Verna) Walls, Pulaski. Va.; Mrs. George (Golden) Beemer, Va. and Mrs. Mike (Hazel) Sullivan, both Roanoake, Va Graveside services will be held at Wp. a ten Lawn in Salt Lake City Saturday, Sept 23, under the direction of Smith Mortuary. Panguitch. David Medium David Benton Mecham, 76, died Sept M, 1978 at a Panguitch hospital He was born Nov. 2, 1901, Tropic, to George Henry and Nancy Ott Mecham. He married Margaret Mackay, Oct. 18, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple He was a retired farmer and rancher, was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints and resided all his life in Tropic. Cedar City; Marjorie Mecham, Tropic, brother, Melvin Mecham; sisters, Elizabeth Barton, Boene Baugh, Tropic, Lousie Pratt, Fredonia; Maude Sharp, Halley, Idaho; eight grandchildren Services were held Sept. 18 at Tropic Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Franz Shakespear officiating The family prayer was given by Robert Barton, prelude and postlude music by Judy Chynoweth; invocation by DeLyle Barton and benediction by Rubin McDougall. The ward choir sang two numbers; Roscoe Mackay sang accompanied by Gwen Brinkerhoff. Speakers were Stan Mecham, Larvin Pollock with remarks by Bishop Shakespear. Interment was in Tropic Cemetery by Smith Mortuary, Panguitch. Pallbearers were Neldon Larsen, Robert Barton, Olaf Shakespear, William Hubner, Matland Baugh and John Mecham. |
