Show Lessons Scheduled At Community Swim Pool Panguitch Community Swimming Pool will again offer swimming lessons to residents of the area and will start for the youth Tuesday, October 10 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. It will continue Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for three weeks. The cost is $10 for the session Enrollment will be limited so persons should preregister at the swimming pool from 6 to 9 p.m. weekdays except Wednesdays, and 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturdays. Payment is required at the time of registration and no refund can be made after the classes begin. The next session of adult swimming lessons will start Tuesday, October 10 at 9 p.m. These classes will run Tuesday and Thrusday for five weeks, a total of 10 lessons at a cost of $12.50. Registration for the last advanced lifesaving course before the water safety instructor course will be Tuesday October 10 at 9 p.m. This class certifies the participant to be a life guard and teaches self-rescue techniques as well as techniques for the rescue of others The eligibility for this class is to be 15 years of age or older, have adequate swimming skil'i, using front crawl stroke, a ide stroke, backstroke and breaststoke and perform standing front dive. Cost for the course is $20 plus pur chase of a book The class is a prerequisite for the watei iafe'y in strut-tors course. The water safety instructors course will be given just once this year This course certifies the participant to instruct Red Cross swimming lessons In many pools this is a required certificate for employment Eligibility for this class is to be 17 years of age or older , hold a current Red Cross advanced lifesaving certificate and hold a Red Cross swimmer certificate or the ability to perforin skills in the swimmer course Instructors for this class will be taught by Sheldon Jackson, and Pat Kaye a Golden Spike Division Safety Services Specialist. This class will start November 13 Preregistration will be required for this course. Cost will be $30 plus purchase of books All those interested in forming a competitive swimming team should leave name and telephone number at the swimming pool during open hours. There is a possibility that swimming meets will be able to be held with various southern Utah communities |
