Show School Council Installs Officers During Meeting Officers were installed at the Panguitch-Hatch Community School Council the past week Jay Riggs is chairman with Clark Frandsen, co-chairman; Debra McKee, secretary and Roene Dickenson, community education-coordinator. There are 22 members serving on the council. The main purpose is to promote better communications between the communities and the school and to help in problem solving situations. Other members are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C. Foy, Alden Black, John Yardley, Jon Torgerson, Laura Mosdell, Bruce Owens, Marie Liston, Mike Dalton, Debbie Henrie, Norma Pollitt, Carla Sawyer, Shirley Wilhelm, Frank Houston, Henry Jolley, Stan Stott, Tressa Fonnesback and Carl Farnsworth. Doug Fonnesbeck of the Garfield County School District Board of Education stated that the goals written for the council and the goals for the school board are very much the same. Sheldon Jackson gave a financial statement of the swimming pool and asked for support from the community during the winter months. He said October 10 will be the date for swim ming lessons to begin. Carolyn Dunn, counselor for the school district announced that there will be a workshop on alcohol and drugs for students and their parents. Stan Stott was introduced to the council as the community education, specialist and will be working with the Panguitch-Hatch Community School Council this year. He showed a film of a community school council in action. |
