Show Wilderness Meetings Garfield County Commissioners Jay Proctor and Dell LeFevre attended a wildernes meeting in Salt Lake City where they stressed their opposition to the proposed Wilderness Act. Others attending the meeting were com missioners, mayors, throughout the state and executive directors from the Five and Six County Association. The main expression by those attending the meeting with the exception of the environmentalists was against the act. Mr. Proctor stressed the importance of in dividual letters being written to the Forest Service in Cedar City expressing views about this matter. While in Salt Lake City, Proctor and LeFevre attended a meeting with Governor Scott Matheson, Roy May and other people from the Plateau Resources about the Ticaboo Townsite Development. It was brought out in the meeting that the annual payroll of the Plateau Resources would be an estimated 15 to $6 million. Also that an estimated 1980-81 Utah other than income taxes would be about $1 million annually. ms mm |
