Show Illilfllli The newly completed Garfield Memorial Hospital and Clinic Is fully equipped to handle the medical needs of the region. This j Garfield County has a modern hospital and two clinics, Garfield Memorial Hospital and Ginic in Panguitch and Dr. Ivan Kazan Memorial Clinic in Escalante. There is also a clinic in Circleville. There are three doctors, Stanley J. Bezek, M.D. ; Harry J. Cavanaugh, MD and Gene R. Reams, MD. The physicians are in the National Health Service Corps, a branch of the public Health Service. In addition to the three physicians, the hospital has a staff of U professional nurses, a home health program, a laboratory technologist, an X-ray technician, a pharmicist, respiratory and physical therapists, 12 administrative employees, dietary and maintenance personnel. There are 65 pink ladies and candy stripers who volunteer their time and nine employees helping the physicians in the three clinics. The 20-bed hospital has a modern emergency room with a physician, an X-ray and lab technician on call at all times. There are two bed intensive and coronary care units, and a surgical suite with backup as needed by physicians in Richfield and from the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. There are also respiratory and physical therapy services available at the hospital. The modern equipment in the hospital include fatal monitor, isolette, patient monitoring system for intensive care, two patient defibillators, an electrocardiograph, blood gas modern establishment has three doctors on its staff and boasts some of the finest facilities In the state. Modern Hospital, Clinics Supply Area Medical Needs analyzer, modern and up to date X-ray and lab equipment, intensive care isolette, fusion pumps, demand pace maker, spirometer and other modern equipment for the health and lifesaving maintenance of the patients. The hospital is owned by Garfield County and has a management contract with Intermountain Health Care, Inc. While the day-to-day operations of the hospital are under the direction of the local governing board and administrator, Doug Fonnesbeck, the IHC provides guidance and many shared services from the central offices in Salt Lake City.
