JBBBMMBMhM Ingra Richards, congenial and efficient postmaster at Panguitch helps make patrons feel at ease, as weH as obtain top service. Postoffice in Panguitch, as In many communities, is hub of much activity. Panguitch's Postoffice Is Hub of Town Activity The citizens of Panguitch are receiving fast, friendly individualized postal service with Ingra Richards as postmaster and Rama Bruhn, Iva Dell Yardley and Louise Englestead as part time clerks in the office. Because Mrs. Richards wants to give the Panguitch area, the best service possible with the amount of man hours they are allowed to hire, she puts in many hours above the call of duty and without extra pay. The service lobby is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. The box lobby is kept open each evening until a bout 9 p.m. seven days a week and is open on holidays and Sundays about 10 a.m. At 7 a.m. weekdays the postal workers began working the mail, they try to get as much out as possible by 8:30 at which time the service lobby is open and work behind the counter progresses much slower. Every day, two large, and sometimes three pouches of mail goes out of this office. Also at least three pouches of mail comes in each day. Although the workers are kept very busy, Mrs. Richards adds her personalized touch to making this office beautiful with a home-type atmosphere. On the north end of the counter there is always a bouquet of flowers or greens to compliment the season at hand. Around the lobby are plants growing and other arrangements placed. A beautiful arrangement of tulips arrayed the lobby during the Easter Season; poinsetta for Christmas with a glittering, sparkling Christmas tree standing infront of the large picture windows: pussy willows help the community realize the beauty of spring; while the gold, orange, brown, and yellow colors of fall dominate the seasonal arrangement in October. Because of the efforts of the postal workers and the every efficient and thorough cleaning of Breant Orton, the custodian, the complete post office is always kept shiny and organized. The tables in the workers area are usually kept clean and unstacked, which is a very hard fete to accomplish in a place as busy as the Panguitch post office. The mail is picked up at 8 a.m. to go to Bryce Canyon, Ruby's Inn, Tropic, Can- (Continued on Page It) ENTERTAINMENT Hick Swanger Is chairman of the Chamber of Commerce'i Entertainment Committee. The outgoing mail leaves the office at 6 p.m. to go to Salt Lake City and Provo. A normal day finds the customers greeted by a cheery 'hello' from the workers. Mrs. Richards very seldom misses sending a birthday card or a get well card to cheer her friends, which are many. She takes time to bake goodies for her friends, asks how one's family is doing, inquires about the sick, she truly cares about those around her. She takes time out of her busy life to visit, to serve on community organizations, and is an avid worker U the LDS Church. i How can we help these busy workers? We can help by trying to get our large supply of outgoing mail to them early in the afternoon to give them time , to sort through the mail. We can help by always putting zip-codes on our mail. We can help is by being cheerful and putting ourself in their shoes before complaining about something that may have gone wTong. We can help by letting them know when we appreciate what we have and overlook little things that may irritate us. One business in town that especially appreciates the service they are receiving encourages every resident in Panguitch, today, to tell the postal workers how much their service is appreciated. |
