Show Film on Shoplifting Shown Area Merchants A film on shoplifting was presented to the Panguitch-Hatch Chamber of Commerce by Garfield County Sheriff Keith Fackrell. Prior to the showing he indicated that shoplifting in the U.S. is a $3.5-million a year business. President Rick Burningham mentioned the possibility of placing four benches along Panguitch Main Street. Last week Norm Fuellenbach and Mark Fuellenbach, owners of the Garfield County News brought the Chamber of Commerce supplement for the merchants to make any changes before it was printed. Jim Blake reported that KSVC, Richfield would advertise for them on the Happy Highways program between 3 and 6 p.m. seven days a week for 20 weeks, As soon as additional funds are obtained the Chamber of Commerce will do similar advertising with KSUB in Cedar City, The club is continually looking for more members. Anyone interested contact Chuck Bauer, Rick Swanger, Jerrie Fackrell for Panguitch, Chuck Bowman for Panguitch Lake area and Art Fulton in Hatch area. Businesses and individual members are urged to attend. Jim Blake reported on the Garfield County Advertising Committee meeting which was held last week. Representation from Panguitch to attend this meeting was voted on by the members of the Chamber of Commerce. Those who will attend the meeting will be Bob DeMint, Lee Henrie, Carl Famsworth, and Bob Benfield with Jim Blake and Mable Fischer alternates. This is the committee that decides where 70-percent of the transient room fun tax is being spent, At the next meeting, which will be held May 5, the Color Country film will be presented |
