The people of Provo doubtless re-mender re-mender old man Shaeffer's attempt at suicide, last spring, by taking strych-1 nine in Judge Sutherland's office. Shaeffer's coat j and hat were in their place, showing he had gone off bareheaded. The fel- low staved for awhile, and Shaeffer not ' ieturning he lecame alarmed and left i the canyon. Keturning to town he told ; the above storv to A. A. Ferry at the courthouse. Nothing has been hoard; of Schaeffer yet, and no action has been ' taken towards hunting bim up. I
