Show ' THE INTERMOUNTAIN CATHOLIC 62 Catholic Womans League Ogden, Utah The Executive Board members of the Cath- olic Womans League met on Friday, November 4th, at the Knights of Columbus Home with Mrs. Conrad Balstad and Mrs. W. G. Emley as hostesses. The Catholic Womans League held its regular meeting on Tuesday, November 9th, at the Knights of Columbus Home. The usual business session took place and a new set of s was written and accepted, after which Mrs. W. G. Emley, program chairman, presented the following numbers: two vocal solos Just Like the Dawn (Ethwell Eddie Hansen) and The World is Waiting for the Sunrise (Eugene Lockhart) by Mrs. Beth Ahern Quinn, accompanied by Miss Margaret Baker; and a splenum paper on Mexico read by Mrs. M. R. Hampton. Mrs. Mattie Fisher, VicejChairman of the dining room committee and the following ladies served refreshments : Mrs. C. E. Clements, Mrs. Kenneth Jones, Mrs. L.a V. Warlaumont, Mrs. J. C. Green and Mrs. George Robinson. Presiding at the tea tables were Mrs. C. Bonner and Mrs. E. A. Garcia. The hostesses for this meeting were Mrs. George Grill, Mrs. Roy Rogers and Mrs. R. W. McGinnis. There was a good attendance. by-law- Parish Notes On Sunday, November 28th, St. Josephs Parish welcomed as its honored guest the Right Reverend John J. Mitty, Salt Lakes new Bishop. It was his first visit outside Salt Lake City and it was a tribute to Monsignor Cushnahan that St. Josephs Parish should be so honored. Bishop Mitty celebrated Mass at 8 oclock. He was assisted by Father William A. Ruel and Father Aloysius Ackermann. Every Catholic was given an opportunity to hear the Bishops inspiring message, as His Lordship spoke at all the Masses. At the High Mass, sung by Father Ackermann, Bishop Mitty presided in Cappa Magna at the throne, being assisted by the Right Reverend Monsignor Cushnahan and Father Ruel. In the afternoon a public reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, and , |
