Religion becomes strong in the exercise of helping; becomes rich in making that He gave His only begotten Son. That itself poor. Holy Cross Hospital The Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary held its first meeting of this year on the second Sunday of October and elected the following officers: President, Frances McCann; Mary Josephine Wolfe; Secretary, Mildred Miles; Treasurer, Mary Wong. The Alumnae entertained the Sisters of the Holy Cross and the Senior Class on the evening of November 12th. Armistice Day was appropriately observed, Vice-Presiden- t, J first by attendance at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass by the student nurses; later in the day impressive ceremonies followed, the student body assembling at the Flag pole, singing patriotic songs and offering prayers for the civil authorities and for those who made the supreme sacrifice during the great conflict; a special remembrance was made for the gold star Mothers. The Misses Ella Wicklund, Melba McDonald, Mary Stringer and Letha Bertleson entertained the student body and their friends with a delightful dancing party on the evening of October 1st. Halloween colors gracefully festooned the hall for the Senior Class dance October 15th. The Customary Halloween costume party was enjoyed the evening of October 29th and some splendid entertainment was furnished by the several classes. The first prize was won by the probationers for their doll show. The Intermediate Class displayed their artistic taste in the decorating with fall colors for their dance November 19th.
