The toast to The Old St. Marys was given by Mrs. Lillian Ferguson; Mrs. May Kane OCarroll toasted the new St. Marys in The Dream Come True. Our Inspiration, was the Alumnae tribute to the Sisters of the Holy Cross, given by Mrs. Alice Bruneau Hofen-bacMiss Hedwig Stocker welcomed the and Collegians of St. Miss Faye Williams responded. Miss Nora Mary Neville, president of the Class of 1927, responded for the class to the welcome extended by Miss Margaret ORourke. Mrs. Lena Schatz Jeffers read to the association a report of her visit to St. Marys College, Notre Dame, Indiana, where she represented the Utah Chapter of the International Federation of Catholic Alumnae. Her account, gratifying and interesting in every detail, was followed by a toast from Mr. Jeffers which appraised and complimented the members of the Association in terms of genuine appreciation and sincere congratulation. On the invitation of Mary Theresa Hughes, Bishop Mitty very graciously responded in a talk to the alumnae, at oncejQinformal and friendly, straightforward and impelling. Music by the St. Marys Orchestra concluded one of the happiest Alumnae reunions in the records of the association. A short comedy, Poor Jim, directed and presented by Mr. Edmund Kearns on Sunday afternoon, October 31st, was one of the very pleasant events of the month. At a special meeting of St. Marys Glee Club on November 9th, the following officers were elected: President, Noreen McGanney; Louise Fleckenstein; Secretary, Mary Sweeney; Treasurer, Margaret Neal; and Librarian, Mary Alice Meagher. Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam was chosen as. the club motto and rose and silver the colors. A dainty pin representing the. treble clef and bearing S. M. G. C. in relief was selected. The Glee Club, both in quality of voices and in enthusiastic response to direction, promises much by way of musical development no less than genuine and pleasurable entertainment. The feast of St. Cecilia, November 22nd, was observed by anticipation on Sunday eve- k.
