Show Television Today NBC Undertakes Mammoth Task to Air Super Bowl Today is the day we talk Super Bowl XX. (Can't ignore it completely, you understand). NBC research estimates 116 million viewers will see all or a portion of the game Sunday. Kickoff is at 315 p.m. (Zion Time) The network will be using $11 million in electronic equipment, including 21 cameras (15 stationary units, production and technical crew payroll will include 135 people. And, of course, the cost of advertising: $1 million a minute, give or take some loose change. Two hundred and seven stations will be carrying the game, but NBC will also feed the signal to Australia, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada. Chile, Costa Rica, Dubai, England, France, Guatemala, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, Venezuela. Wales, and the U.S. Armed Forces Television Services. All the above constitute the technical end of the SB XX coverage.
