Two other long-tim- e inmates were granted paroles. They were Barde Beckstead, 45, Murray, Dec. 13, 1983, who has served six years and eight months on two sentences for aggravated sexual assault and one sentence for aggravated kidnapping; and Roger Olson, 23, Ogden, Jan. 11, 1983, has served four years of one to 15 years for burglary and theft. He is serving for the burglary of the Skaggs Drug Center, Logan. Lawrence Hollingsworth, 35, Salt City, who has served 18 months of 1 to 15 years for aggravated arson and 1 to 15 years for tamperuig with evidence, was told his sentences will be terminated Sept. 14 burglary; Kenneth Simpson, 29, Jan. served 19 months of 1 to 15 years for theft, 1 to 20 years for burglary and zero to five years for possession of a forged prescription, and James R. Judge Jay E. Ranks gave both sides 10 days in which to file additional briefs on the issue. The city sued state corrections officials after they decided to locate a halfway house for adults and a residential facility fof juveniles within its limits. The suit alleges the st&te acted illegally in choosing the sites and began construction without. receiving required conditional-us- e permits. It asks the court to issue an injunction to halt construction at the sites.
