At least one large community park is also asked for that area along with small neighborhood parks, depending on feasibility. UNDER ANNEXATION and incorporation, it asks that the most favorable method of providing urban services with local control should be sought and indicates annexations shouldn't be allowed to disrupt existing South Davis Sewer and water districts. The area should maintain its current identity as much as possible, should annexation occur, as well. MAYOR NELDON Hamblin assured several citizens who were present during this weeks regular city council meeting that the annexation of the land was to put the city water tanks within the city limits and had nothing to do with garbage plant. The 10 acres of land being annexed by Clearfield city contains the Utah Department of Transportation area which is the number one site for the controversial $64 million burn plant. DESPITE THE site being the number one site for the proposed burn plant. Mayor Hamblin told the several Clearfield residents present during the meeting that the annexation of the land was to prevent Clearfield city from paying taxes to the county for city tanks located on the annexed land. Passage of the controversal proposition won by Utah voters last November meant that Clearfield city would have to pay taxes on the water tanks to the county if not incorporated into the city said City Manager Gayle Starks. T location of the burn site on that property was just a coincidence. I would hate to live in a city that is called the garbage dump of the Wasatch Front. said Clearfield resident Floyd Erickson. MANY CITIZENS protested the annexation because they feared the council was annexing the land just to locate the burn plant within Clearfield city. 1 think there is an ulterior motive for this annexation," stated Clearfield resident Betty Erickson. MAYOR Hamblin told the sometimes hostile audience that the annexation would have very little to do with of school property and facili- ties by the community and pro- viding facilities to properly educate area youngsters. For individual cities, general recommendations were also made concerning future growth. For Bountiful, it says that care should be taken in developing transition between industrial and single family development. In Centerville, it recommends transition be- tween commercial, industrial and single family residential, not only within cities but also between cities. IN CLEARFIELD, it notes, there are some areas where industrial and single family housing may cause a few conflicts and should be reviewed For very carefully. fast- growing Clinton, the master Work with plan recommends other cities in developing a water storage system. Much larger and less expensive facilities could be developed. FIREPLACE - maxe FRANKLIN otter.
