It not only includes long-tim- e Clapton Steve Gadd, Chris Stainton, and Dave Bronze, but also such bandmates Andy Fairweather-Low- , artists as Paul Carrack, Tony Rich, Babyface, Joe Sample, and Nathan East. Except for Bob Dylans Bom in Time and St. Louis Jimmys Going Down Slow, every song was either written or cowritten by Clapton. Pilgrim, we find a Clapton who is heai (broken but artistically reinvigorated, a guitar hero who knows too well that despite that flatteimg Clapton is God, graffiti of yore, he is entirely human. Pilgiim is easily Claptons most ambitious, introspective piece of work since his days with the e regarding family and legendary Derek and the Dominoes The album is a loosely themed love, touching on the father he never knew to the son who tragically died in 1991. The album is an R & B, orchestra maneuvers, and even some electronics. With his intriguing blend of usual wonderful guitar playing, Clapton also showcases his vocal qualities with soulful eloquence often backed by various other vocalists A gieat mix of the classic Clapton sound with a 90s mix, On song-cycl- ol this album will satisfy.
