Show HILL TOP TIMES Friday, May 13, 1983 NcidodiksiI Spores Fesiivol returns io AF Acodeimy The fifth edition of the United States Olympic Committee's National Sports Festival returns to its birthplace: Colorado Springs, Colo., and the Air Force Academy, June y 3. This marks the third time that Colorado Springs will serve as the primary site for the National Sports Festival. Use of the Academy's extensive athletic facilities was the prime reason for choosing Colorado Springs as the National Sports Festival site again this year. Some 2,600 world-clas- s amateur athletes, coaches and officials will use cadet facilities for housing, meals and recreation. More than 70 percent of the activities will be held on the Academy's 18,000-acr- e grounds, including rifle, 24-Jul- -- important training contest for - American athletes. Two sports ice hockey and women's field hockey - will be America's representative sports at the Pan American Games in Caracas, Venezuela in August.
