One of the major projects being conducted and installed by the personnel of the Ogden Air Logistics Center is the fleetwide modernization of the environmental control systems of that y conweapon system. Old, brine chiller units are being sumption replaced by smaller more energy efficient units. These units produce a cooled fluid which is used to control temperature and humidity in the missile launcher. With the smaller systems, the air handling ed program. Kits of modified parts are being installed by technicians from Hill AFB. Installations are complete at Malmstrom AFB, Mont., and the launch facilities are complete at Whiteman AFB, Mo. Work is in progress at Ellsworth AFB, S.D. and Francis E. Warren AFB, Wyo. The entire project is scheduled for completion in 1985. re- quirements are concurrently being reduced. The Brine Chiller Modification Program is managed by Project Engineer Garth Rohde. Mr. Rohde was instrumental in pushing the project from its inception through funding, design, manufacture and installation. The modification involves 1,100 launch facilities and launch control facilities of different configurations.
