The Tridell Relief Society celebrated their birthday anniversary anniver-sary Friday night by having a party and dinner with their husbands. Ray Sadler, Vernal was the guest speaker. Larry and La Wanna Goodrich, Roy, and Ethel Goodrich were visitors in Tridell Friday night. Emma Wilson, Velora Merrell, Thelma Taylor, Vida and Loma McKee were visitors in Provo Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Errol Merkley took Erik to Provo Saturday where he will be competing in the State FFA speaking speak-ing contest. Erik won the region con test and was then able to compete in the state. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Sanders visited Saturday and Sunday at the Errol Er-rol Merkley home. The Sanders are from Salt Lake City. Glenna and Carl Wilson, Springville, spent the weekend with Milton Wilson. Mr. Wilson came out to be with his two brothers Sunday when Ben Wilson was ordained a high priest and Milton Wilson was ordained an elder. Mr. and Mrs. Merlin McKee spent Friday in Provo. Merlin McKee, DeVon and Lome McKee attended a bank and agriculture seminar in Provo, Pro-vo, Friday. Bi-lingual confab beckons group Eddison Lyman, son of Velma Lyman, left this week for San Francisco Fran-cisco with a bi-lingual group from La-point La-point and Todd schools to go to a national na-tional bi-lingual convention. It is with the Wyokoopah Program. Eddison and the group will be participating in five dances and will be performing twice. Velma Lyman spent the weekend in Provo visiting her son, Murlin Wenzel, who will be leaving soon for Europe A Davis Elementary student spelled spell-ed her way to victory in a recent spelling bee held at the school. After elimination of a large number of students who entered the contest, Vicki O'Driscoll became the first place winner. The couple will be honored with an open house between 6 : 30 and 8 : 30 p.m. at the Ballstaedt residence, 3029 East Sundrift Circle, Salt Lake City, the same evening as the wedding. On Friday, Fri-day, March 22, an open house will be given in their honor at the Manila LDS . cultural hall from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Men's League Tournament was held at the Manila High School gymnasium gym-nasium on March 14-15-16. For the league plays (games throughout the season) a trophy went to the Hub as first place winner. Placing for the league games were as follows: Hub-first, Hub-first, Burntfork-second, Bucketeers-fourth, Bucketeers-fourth, and Manila Town-fifth. Every member of the two top winning winn-ing teams during the tournament were awarded trophies. Trophies went to the top four winning teams. Placings of the teams were as follows: X-It Construction Con-struction (guest team) took first place, McKinnon was second, Hub third, Bucketeers were fourth, Burntfork, fifth, Manila Town sixth, and Seniors (guest team) seventh. An all-tourney team was selected and trophies went to each named as follows: Boyd Pallesen, McKinnon; Tim Robinson, Hub; David Sikich, Seniors; Clint Schofield, Bucketeers; Ray Ruble, Manila Town; Jon Wilde, McKinnon; Steve Knudson, X-It Construction; Con-struction; Billy Johnson, X-It Construction; Con-struction; Larry Anderson, Burntfork, and Kurt Sadlier, Hub.
