A large crowd flowed through the home of hosts, Mr. and Mrs. John Christiansen throughout the afternoon after-noon as they enjoyed the music, refreshments and setting of the tea. Xi Alpha Xi has new officers Xi Alpha Xi, a chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, held its second meeting of the month on Monday, March 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Gwen Rambo. There were 18 members present. All stood for the Opening Ritual. President Marilyn Gragert presided presid-ed over the business meeting. The Ritual of Jewels ceremony was given for Barbara Aslcsen, Jeanette Dear-man, Dear-man, Christine Durkee, Paula Frost, Lesha Hacking, Fran Harding, Karin-da Karin-da Magee and Deon McLean. Election of officers was held at this time. New officers for the 1985-86 year for Xi Alpha Xi are: president, Helen Dearman; vice president, Barbara Brewer; recording secretary, Billie Jacobsen; correponding secretary, Kathy Brewer; treasurer, Jeanette Dearman; extension officer, Gwen Rambo, and city council representative, represen-tative, Billye Durkee. New officers for the Friendly Venture Ven-ture Ritual of Jewels chapter that Is now forming will be president. Barbara Bar-bara Johnson; vice president, Paula Frost; recording secretary, Lesha Hacking; correponding secretary, Karinda Magcc; treasurer, Christine Durkee; extension officer, Manucla (k'Hi-rmann; cily council representative, represen-tative, Marilyn Gragert and city council coun-cil alternate, Fran Harding. The chapter will hold IU next mrrimij on Monday, April 1 at the home of Thelma Hicks, The youth orchestra supports their projects, travel and performances with donated funds. The Silver Tea is a way to both entertain, educate and acquaint the public with the orchestra and its members and to help with fund raising. Under the direction of Ora Fay Oviatt, young artists from the small population of the Uintah Basin contribute con-tribute more outstanding young musicians to perform on a state level than any other area of the state. Those who attended the Silver Tea expressed pride in being part of a community who has such fine young musicians. As one visitor stated, "I guess I shouldn't boast, but I know we have the best youth orchesta anywhere. Did you hear how well they play?
