Show M w I i .Vernal Expri 6St Wadnesdoy, Morch 20, 1985 ? 1 Six musicians honored in youth orchestra Six talented young musicians Played to a 95 percent proficiency wis week to earn title of Uintah Community Com-munity Schools Youth Orchestra outstanding student for February. i The students play "May Song" and Long, Long Ago" for director Ora Fay Oviatt who scored them on tone, intonation, tempo and rhythm. Those receiving the award are Heather Davis, Lori and Carey Christensen, Melissa Kimrough, Jackie Brewer and Mike Nash. Hether Davis, violinist is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Chivers. She is a third grade student at Ashley Elementary. Sisters Lori and Carey Christensen are the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brent Christensen. They moved to Vernal last fall from Payson where they had been studying Suzuki piano. Carey is the 4th grade and Lori is in the 2nd grade at Discovery Elementary. Elemen-tary. Melissa Kimbrough is in the 4th grade at Vernal Christian School. Her parent are Mr. and Mrs. David Kimbrough. Jackie Brewer scored 100 percent to receive high score honor for the month. She is in the 3rd grade at Davis Elementary. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jay Brewer. She plays the violin because that is what her mother plays. Mike Nash is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Nash. He attended Naples Elementary School where is is in the 4th grade. His mother, Betta, is a violin teacher for the orchestra. Jensen Ward sustains three to new bishopric Last Sunday during the Jensen 1st LDS Ward Conference a new bishopric was sustained. The former bishopric is Jack Ruppe, bishop; Drew Christiansen, first counselor, and David Petersen, second counselor. Called to the new Jensen Ward Bishopric were Byron Kerr Tolman, bishop; Arthur W. Robinson, first counselor, and Randal Jeffery Sharp, second counselor. Byron Kerr Tolman, originally from Salt Lake City, is a Snow College Col-lege graduate and has a degree in Range Management from Utah State University. ' J" He and his wife Peggy moved to Jensen in 1973. He has served as Scout Master and Deacon's Quorum advisor since that time. He and his wife have five children. He is employed with the BLM as a supervisor super-visor of natural resource specialist. Arthur W. Robinson is formerly from Bountiful. Utah. He attended Ricks College. He and his wife Diane have one daughter. They have lived in Jensen since 1382. He is employed in theoiLfidd. Randal Sharp spent most of his school years in Bountiful. In addition, ad-dition, the retailwholesale trade and service sectors added almost 150 jobs each to the district's employment expansion. The construction industry was the only sector to show a net decline in jobs by dropping almost four percent. Uintah County made the largest addition addi-tion to the overall growth adding nearly near-ly 500 new jobs representing a six percent increase over the October-December October-December 1983 time period. The expansion in nonagricultural jobs was largely responsible for a 7.5 , percent Increase In the total number of Individuals employed. As more people peo-ple joined the ranks of the employed, 500 fewer people remained unemployed.
