Show Huff to perform with Utah Symphony Susan S. Huff, a native of Bountiful, Boun-tiful, will perform with the Utah Symphony Tuesday evening, Nov. 20, in Symphony Hall on the annual Salute to Youth concert. formance of "Messiah" was last November in Symphony Hall as soloist with the Utah Symphony Chorus. She has added the roles of Yum-Yum ("The Midado"), and Millie ("Seven Brides for Seven Brothers' ') to her repertoire. Huff received her bachelor's degree in vocal performance from the University of Utah in 1988, where she studied with Naomi Farr. She is the daughter of Harold K. and Nancy D. Smith and is married to Utah musician Michael Huff. She teaches voice lessons at her home in Bountiful. ' - - i i L ' - 3 SUSAN S. HUFF She earned the opportunity to audition for Maestro Silverstein, music director for the symphony, by receiving second place honors in the Utah State Fair Vocal Competition Competi-tion which was recently held at the University of Utah. She will perform per-form a concert aria, "Mia Speranza Adorata," by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Huff was active in music while attending Bountiful High School. There she discovered a talent for musical theater, playing a leading role in Bountiful High's production of "Carnival." While a student at the University of Utah, she continued to perform in the theater with roles in "The Little Match Girl," and "James and the Giant Peach." Her operatic credits include "Trial By Jury," "Der Rosenkavalier," "Dialogues du Carmelites," and "The Marriage of Figaro. ' ' She has sung the soprano solos for "Messiah" and John Ruttcr's "Requiem." Her most recent peril |
