Show Davis music groups earn excellent marks By BECKY QUIST Music at Davis is booming this spring, as shown in results from Solo and Ensemble Festivals. Members in orchestra, band and choir groups all had the chance to compete against other schools in the region. The results were great as proved by the number of Davis musical groups going on to state competition. Grandia, Elisa Semadeni and Diane Bodily. The Davis choirs will finish the year off with some other big events. The annual spring concert will be held on March 26 at 7:30 p.m. A training festival is on the 4th of April at Davis. A region festival will complete competitions on April 25 at Roy. Concluding all choral events will be a Limited Edition concert on May 15, a Madrigal concert con-cert on May 17 and an early morning morn-ing concert on May 19th. Choirs are not the only Darts to make good music. The orchestra also received an excellent rating at the region Solo and Ensemble Festival. Fes-tival. All music groups who achieved superior ratings will compete at the state Solo and Ensemble Festival to be held April 28 at BYU. For the final music category at Davis, the Jazz Band will be competing com-peting at a state festival on March 31. Davis Darts wish all music groups good luck in the next few months. - " D a rtpM3 On March 12, Madrigal, Limited Edition, Barbershop and Junior Choir competed at Clearfield High. Superior ratings were earned by several of the groups. Those qualifying for state competition com-petition include Barbershop, Madrigals, some members of Junior Choir, and a group from Limited Edition consisting of Christie Allen, Erin Barrett, Jenny Bell, Lauri |
